What's Next for Home in the Hollow 2023 - Help Me Decide
Today is the last Friday of the 2022. I wanted to look back at some of the highlights from the year. But before we do that, I want to take a moment to think about what Home in the Hollow will look like in 2023. That's where I need your help!!!
Every week for the past year there has been a new blog post published on Friday. I want to know what you thought! Would you please take a moment to tell me what you liked, what were your favorite things to read, what you would like to see more of, and where you think Home in the Hollow could improve?
Please comment on this post or send an email to abby@homeinthehollow.com with your thoughts. I'd really appreciate your input! That being said, I am going to take the month of January as a time to unplug and refocus on the goals for Home in the Hollow. Blogging is a creative outlet for me, and I want to make sure that I am enjoying the process as well as (hopefully) providing you with benefit. I hope to be back the first week of February with new content for you.
Let's look back at 2022:
The most popular blog post for 2022 was our virtual farm tour which you can check out here. This was actually a blog post inspired by Caleb and was a lot of fun to put together. Throughout 2022 we had several guest posts by different authors. I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to the following Home in the Hollow guest bloggers:
In March Julie Druck (my lovely mother-in-law) wrote Hospitality - An Unexpected Blessing
Dorothy Chronister from She Seeks Pearls wrote Refresh Your Home with Dorothy in April
My own sweet Mom, Suanne Vega, wrote Family, Culture, and Food during the month of June
Katie Jordan, my sister, wrote two guest posts one in August - Katie's Peach Breakfast Toast and one in December - Thoughts on Homemade Gifts
Other Highlights this year:
Some of the other wonderful things that happened in 2022 were:
My Dad coming off oxygen after a hospitalization/long recovery from Covid-19
Raising 3 hogs and bunches of new chicks on the farm
Trip to Kentucky to see the Ark Encounter, Creation Museum, Louisville Slugger Factory, and Churchill Downs
Repairing the old bridge back our farm lane
Spending time with my brother and friends at a WWII airshow
Attending Ag Progress Days
Growing a preservation focused garden
My little sister, Chloe, marrying the love of her life, Julius
Renovating our cattle barn
Making 15 gallons of applesauce with apples from our own trees
Time at the beach and in the mountains with family
Helping renovate Chloe and Julius's new home
Teaching 6-8th grade in our Awana program at church
Caleb and I feel incredibly blessed to live such a full and wonderful life. God has truly blessed us, and all the glory goes to Him.
I wish you and your family a very happy new year! Thank you for all of your support and for faithfully reading these blog posts.
Much Love,
Abby
