The Story of "Little Ollie"

This is a 1950 Oliver 66. We like to call him "Little Ollie." Ollie holds a special place in our hearts and here's why:

Ollie belonged to an old farmer, and it was his dream to one day restore this tractor back to its former glory. Unfortunately, the old farmer passed away before he was able to bring his dream to life. Ollie was left in a hundred pieces scattered about an old garage.

A few years after the farmer died, a young man asked if he could restore the disassembled tractor. The young man spent every spare moment finding pieces, fixing parts, and bringing Ollie back to life.

During this time, the young man started to notice the old farmer's granddaughter. They began spending time together and the two quickly became close friends. They would sometimes spend hours talking out in the old garage while the young man was working.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. The welding, sanding, painting, and reassembling continued. Finally, almost two years later, Ollie was back up and running. He was a beautiful sight.

If you haven't figured it out already, the young man was Caleb. And the farmer's granddaughter was me (Abby).

As funny as it may sound, this old tractor played a part in our love story. That's why he holds a special place in our hearts. Ollie even served as our "get away ride" on our wedding day.

Now Little Ollie lives out in our barn and every year we take him to the local tractor show. Tomorrow will mark 6 years that Caleb and I have been married. We've been enjoying looking back at sweet memories and are planning to take Ollie to the local tractor show this weekend.

I hope you've enjoyed hearing a piece of our story! I'd love to hear your story sometime - feel free to comment below!

Thanks for reading,

Abby
