Last Minute Homemade Gifts
Christmas is only 2 days away?!?! It happens every year, but I'm still caught by surprise with how quickly the time goes. If you're needing a few last-minute homemade gift ideas, look no further!
1. Citrus Garland
If you've got some twine and a few lemons, limes, grapefruit, or oranges lying around, you can easily make a citrus garland. I made one for my Christmas tree this year and it looks so bright and festive. To make a citrus garland, slice citrus in about 1/4-inch slices. Dry in the over or in a dehydrator for a few hours (you can easily google temps and times based on your oven or dehydrator). Once dry, string citrus slices on twine to create a lovely garland that will brighten any home during winter.
2. Rustic Cinnamon Raisin Bread
This recipe from the Busy Baker is delicious and simple. The hardest part is waiting for the bread to cool before diving in! Using the quick rise method, you can have a lovely rustic loaf sitting on your counter in less than 3 hours. Add a jar full of whipped cinnamon honey butter and you've got a homemade gift that everyone will be drooling over!
3. Encouragement in a Jar
Add verses, notes, memories, and photos to a jar. Every day, week, or month (depending on how full the jar is) your loved one can pull encouragement from the jar and be reminded of how much you love them. As a bonus, this is a really fun project that will take you down memory lane while putting it together.
4. Homemade dog biscuits
If you have a dog lover in the family, these dog treats will make a quick and easy gift for your loved one and their pup. The best part is there are only 3 ingredients! Tucker loves these treats, and they received his full stamp of approval.
5. Hand painted clips
My sisters and I painted clothes pins together a few years ago. We painted everything from snowmen and snowflakes to herbs and flowers. I still enjoy using these special clothespins to help seal bags of snacks or other odds and ends. To do this project, I would recommend the large style clothes pins as they're easier to paint on, but if you have a steady hand the small ones will work fine too.
I hope you've found some last-minute inspiration from today's blog post. Let me know in the comments what is your favorite homemade gift to give or receive?
Thanks for reading and merry Christmas!
