Floral Ice Cubes - DIY
The purpose of Home in the Hollow is to inspire us to find beauty and joy in the everyday moments and cultivate hearts filled with gratitude. So today I am sharing a fun simple project that will help us notice little details and bring some unexpected beauty into our lives.
Floral Ice Cubes
What you'll need:
One ice cube tray
One handful of various edible flowers or herbs
Water
Directions:
Collect your edible flowers or herbs (in the photos in this blog post I used Beebalm, Corn Flowers, Yarrow, and Roses). Always be very careful when selecting plants you are going to consume and be 100% sure they're not poisonous.
Gently rinse flowers/herbs being sure to remove any dirt or bugs trying to sneak past you.
Fill ice cube tray with warm water. This is an important step. Warm water tends to have less air bubbles and will freeze more clear. Just remember you don't want the water too hot or it will damage the flowers.
Remove leaves and petals from stems. Place them into the water in the ice cube tray. Don't worry if parts of the leaves/petals stick out. As long as some of it is submerged it should be okay!
Place on a flat surface in your freezer. Let them harden for several hours.
When ready, serve with your favorite drink.
I hope you enjoyed today's post. If you give this project a try I'd love to know what you think!

Abby
